Happy Halloween!

So this because not only a post about Halloween, but also a post about how much I love where we live.  Not only is Ames a wonderful little city to live in, but I think we live on what is quite possibly the best little street in the whole city.  First, of all, it's cul-de-sac, so not any traffic, except for the 4 houses on our cul-de-sac, and in two of the houses, only one person lives, and in the third house, they take the bus a lot.  Our neighbor to the south, as well as one across from us, are widows who love Israel and seeing him walk around the neighborhood.  The other across from us is an elderly couple - great grandparents - who also love Israel.  Our neighbor to the north is a great couple of men who take care of everyone else!  They have a beautiful yard and also take care of the circle of grass and plants in the middle of the cul-de-sac.  Apparently, they also go ALL OUT for Halloween and Christmas.  As you can see from the pictures, Halloween was quite fun this year.  Israel LOVED it!  Randal took him down the mall to go trick-or-treating there first and said that the entire time he was asking to come back home to talk to the ghosts and see the scary garage.  They did, and then went around our neighborhood.  All our neighbors in our little cul-de-sac were all outside visiting with each other and Just enjoying the gorgeous night (around 65-70 degrees the whole time).  Steve and Johnny (the neighbors to the north) were so good with Israel...  He can be quite a handful when he gets excited about something!

Warning...  Lot's of pictures ahead!

Steve and Johnny and a neighbor kid with Israel.  In the background is Steve and Johnny's graveyard, complete with spooky fog, which was their front yard.

Another one with Israel and his new friend.  I'm not sure if this was Steve or Johnny.  :)

I'm not quite sure why he was giving me this look.

Ahh, that's better.

Another reason why I love where we live.  Randal's study partner, a super nice girl from Germany, knitted this set for Elijah.  She also made a hat for Israel, but it's hard to get him to wear it without him pulling it down over his face and pretending like it's a mask.

The hat.

The whole look.
