Trunk or Treat

Wednesday night was our ward "Trunk or Treat."  Here are some pictures of the boys.

Elijah was a giraffe.  Here's his cute lil' bum.

Here he is in his cute little giraffe hat...  Don't look too closely, I don't want you to see my really bad "sewing" job!  Don't you just love the expression on his face though??

We did face painting at the carnival afterwards.  I say "we" because the Young Women were the ones in charge, and by the end of the night, most had left so I had to step in.

Israel was a dinosaur, he doesn't have the top up, but there is a dinosaur head that comes up like a hood.  He was a dinosaur last year too!

Kinder Bueno - Danka mi amigo Marvin!

My new BFF Marvin just got back from Europe and look what he brought me! It's true, you don't have to do much to become my BFF, just tell me a look good or give me sweets. This time it's Kinder Bueno, the very best candy bar in the whole entire world! It's chocolate and wafers with a super creamy and light hazelnut filling. This is truly a heavenly treat! When I was in college, I had a friend who traveled to Germany often and he would bring back treats just like this called Happy Hippo snacks - basically a more kid oriented package of the same candy bar. Well, after I got married we fell out of touch, so I have been fantasizing about these candy bars for over 6 years now. When we moved here and made friends, we discovered that Marvin travels to Europe every so often for work... So, enter Kinder Bueno. DANKA mi AMIGO MARVIN!!!

The Nielsons

OK, I just got done reading this article about Stephanie and Chirstian Neilsen.  I'm sure many of you have been following this story...  Especially if you're in AZ.  Anyhow, I cried through the whole entire thing, and of course, my doorbell rang right in the middle of reading!  Coming from a family of mostly girls, who are all very close to each other - and being away from them - I felt everything they were saying.  I really am so glad that I've been following their story and found Stephanie's blog.

Recently, there was a little bit of controversy among my some of my sister's friends and blogging "neighbors" about a blog that parodies life as "Molly Mormon" wife and mom.  It basically ridicules those women who are "high on life" and love to be a SAHM (stay at home mom).  I personally thought, that while it was clever and I could totally see these silly attributes in some the girls I know, it was also kind of sad that this person would make fun of people who felt they were "so blessed."  This particular blog did receive some local attention and has a faithful following.

Now back to NieNie (Stephanie Nielson).  If you read the article, you know that the Nielsons and Stephanie in particular, has received NATIONAL (and even a little INTERNATIONAL) attention.  What is so ironic is that she seems to be the kind of person that the other blog is making fun of.  I can't help but give a little cheer that in this case, it seems to be that the good guy (or gal) is winning!  If you read Stephanie's blog you can't help but notice how many people have found inspiration from her sparkling outlook on life - I know I have!

Anyway...  So, to my sisters and mommy, Chantal, Jenny, Clarissa, and Susan:  I love you and miss you.  You are all so talented and amazing and inspire things that I do everyday!  And to all my other "sisters" - ditto.   :)

Fall is Here!

OK, I never thought I would say it, but I wish the clouds would go away!  Being from AZ, where we only see rain half a dozen times in a whole year, I really love the rain and this summer in Iowa was great.  Lots and lots of rain was fun for me (I hope not too many Iowans are reading this *smile*).  But now it's fall, and I have been dying to get out and take some beautiful fall pictures and maybe get a family portrait done with all the fun fall colors, but it's been overcast all week long!  As you can see, Israel and I went to the park earlier in the week.  But we froze!  There were no other kids there (usually there are at least a few) and it was so so windy.  I'm told this is a small preview of what is to come in the wintertime (great!).  Anyway, the changing leaves and even the weather really are so beautiful that I wanted to share it with you!

The Boys

Ok, so here are some more pictures of Elijah...  This is the outfit he wore to church on Sunday.  I just thought it was so cute!!!  I love the hood.  I tried to get a good picture of his whole body, but I had forgotten how hard it is to do that.  Silly baby comes out looking all weird and contorted.  Anyway, here he is:

And here is a picture of Israel...  So cute!

And...  I got a new toy (that's what I've taken all these pictures with).  So, here are some pictures because I was just playing and I thought they looked pretty cool.  Plus, you get to see some of my Fall/Halloween decorations.  Although, the Nativity and fruit obviously aren't.
